Battle at the Bridge Prelims

The Battle at the Bridge Prelims, presented by CHARMED.ca, brings together top U11, U13, and U15 teams for two days of competition and sportsmanship. With three guaranteed games and Player of the Game recognition, every matchup is a chance to showcase talent and teamwork.

LMBA and Battle at the Bridge follow AYBC rules for age divisions to keep tournaments fair, competitive, and safe. Divisions are set as: U11 – Born 2014 or later, U13 – Born 2013/2012, and U15 – Born 2011/2010. Within each division, “A” teams typically include older or more experienced players, while “B” teams generally have younger or less experienced players.

NOTE Overage players are not permitted — as per Alberta Basketball guidelines, there will be no exceptions to this rule.

Tournament Rules

Please ensure your players, parents, coaches, and spectators show respect to our refs, scorekeepers, and gym marshals and show sportsmanship throughout the tournament! Thanks!!

  • Warm-Up & Game Balls – Teams must bring their own warm-up basketballs. One team per game will provide the game ball to the officials.

  • Team Listing & Jerseys – The home team is listed first/on top of the draw, away team second/bottom. If jersey colors conflict, teams must adjust or switch uniforms.

  • Net Height – All age groups play on a 10-foot net.

  • First Aid – Ice, ice packs, and basic first aid kits are available at the scorekeeper table or through the LMBA gym marshal.

  • Ejections – Any coach, parent, or fan ejected from a game will not be allowed back for the remainder of the tournament.

  • Parent Rep Requirement – Each team must supply a parent representative for each game. This person will be introduced to the refs and will assist in addressing parent/spectator concerns if needed.

  • Player of the Game Coupons – All three coupons will be provided to coaches at the team’s first game. Distribute at your discretion.
